There was an article in today's Wall St Journal about injuries to and

This was news to me.  Are drug dosages determined routinely by noting the
weight of the patient in kg, in the USA?

My two kids, born in California at Kaiser, had their official weights in grams (3690 and 4390 respectively).  On the "It's a Boy!" card on the crib, the weights were dumbed down for the parents, if the parents insisted.

Here at Kaiser in Maryland they weigh in pounds only.  I have to insist on proper measure.  The scales for small kids can show either weight, and maybe they use that for medical doses -- I hope so.

Another compelling reason to ditch this stupidity once and for all.
