Title: process review of ICAS standards and methodologies
As some of you may know, the Alliance for the Advancement of Technology (AAT) recently issued Integrated Chronological Applications System (ICAS) version 6.04. A number of sources including the USMA list were surveyed, and thereby informed development of this version and the continuing ICAS process review. Information about AAT ICAS standards and methodologies may be found at http://www.aatideas.org/itinica in both HTML and PDF formats.

A quote from the ICAS announcement may be of particular interest to readers of this list:

ICAS is modelled on metric methodologies and on SI in particular. ICAS features are developed in pursuit of best practices to anticipate issues of use and conversion. Leveraging the application of various uniform schemes, uses of ICAS may hold advantages that parallel those realized in the application of SI measures.

The AAT is presently studying certain uses of ICAS calendar and clock systems. The AAT operates under the premise that what is good for SI is good for ICAS, and also that what is good for ICAS is good for SI. This is a matter of course for the AAT, and ICAS features are exploring a variety of practical and theoretical approaches to usability challenges.

There are good and relevant reasons to focus on the use of metric measures. This program is also important for the AAT's mission to promote applicable philosophies of technology.

I hope that this can be of help.
