Well in the famous words of somebody giving directions to the lost
traveller:
"I wouldn't start from here"

I would give shoe dimensions in millimetres.

I am glad you picked that up. I wasn't going to comment on it. It merely
reflects different data sources. The source for naked French feet has
different data to the source for shod French feet. Don't worry about it,
this happens all the time in anthropometry and there are ways of
handling it.
