There has been a long-winded argument on the off-list topic of
evolution versus creation as described in the the book of Genesis.
The paleontologic evidence is overwhelming that evolution occurred.
That may be considered as a solid fact. There are conflicting
theories as to the mechanism by which evolution occurred. Gensis
gives a poetic explanation. Darwin presented his *theory* that it
occurred through "survival of the fittest". Mendel produced evidence
that refined the theory.
