That's true.  From what I have seen of Canada it is not difficult to find imperial units scattered around along with metric.
 
We've been a bad influence on our neighbour, haven't we?  And still, so little hope now to change that.

Being almost another US 'state', Canada will have a much harder time converting fully than here. I think it's up to the individual, in Canada. It may be a question of loyalties - either use the familiar US English system or the Quebec-based French system. Personally, I prefer to use the EASIEST system!!

Here is a picture of yours truly (left) with the builder (right) in the dead of winter six months ago.
 
We are studying the plans of the extensions to my home, which are all in mm. (The next storey/story was yet to be added.)
 
But now I'm very pleased with the results (where I'm writing now) and hope it won't be too long before all American builders will see the light and measure this way.
