I don't understand the desire of some of you folks for a usenet newsgroup. It seems to me that a Yahoo group would be a better approach, for a variety of reasons:When is the earliest date when we can start campaigning again for a usenet newsgroup?
(1) the vast majority of internet users are not familiar with the Usenet, newsgroups or newsgroup readers. Setting up a such a forum dramatically reduces the potential participation.
(2) some ISPs no longer provide Usenet service, which further limits the potential audience.
(3) a Yahoo group is free, does not need any voting, etc.
(4) a Yahoo group is usable by anyone with EITHER email or a web browser -- you can receive the messages via email (individually or digest) or using your web browser.
(5) Messages via the browser can be shown "threaded" just like in a newsgroup.
What is it that a newsgroup will provide that is not better provided by a Yahoo group?
