The sad thing if you try to tell this to Americans it will fall on deaf ears.  In the case of measurements, Americans would rather spite their face by cutting off their noses then to save time, money and resources and do the sensible thing and metricate.

Americans would rather blame an ungrateful world for not using American measurements.  The only reason the world is using metric is just to be different from the ever right, never wrong USA.

We need people like Gerald Fleming to fight for metric.  We need to point out more errors and their costs that crop up now and then due to back and forth conversions.  We need a voice who can point out that those costs more than exceed the costs of metrication.  It is good to see we have supporters like Gerald Fleming.

GERALD FLEMING, Meteorologist, Met ireann, Glasnevin Hill, Dublin 9 also appears as confused as I was in a previous post, about the correct use of term 'Imperial' as opposed to 'US Colonial, US Customary, FFC or wot eva units'.  This further adds to the confusion he raised.

He wrote:
The sad thing is that the use of both imperial and metric measurements
causes confusion and simply wastes time (and thus money) in many scientific
and technological endeavours - and also in the everyday world of
engineering, architecture, etc.
