On Saturday, I was surprised to see a very pro-metric
advertisement in my newspaper for paint sold
at Rona. Rona is a chain of 540 home improvement
stores similar to Home Depot located mostly in
Quebec & Ontario.

Their advertisement said
"Buy three 4 litre cans of paint and the fourth one is free."
It intrigued me because paint, in Canada is not, on the whole,
sold in 4 L cans. Because they're mostly from the US,
they're in 3.78 L cans. The ad went on to say that the
ad applied to any cans with 3.4 L to 3.98 L.
Here is where the ad can be found
http://www.rona.ca/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/rona/srvr_030312.jsp?langId=-1&;
storeId=10001

I'm glad they didn't say "Buy three US Gallons, get one free".

It's also nice to see that they have a webpage with
calculating tools (paint, wallpaper, etc)
http://www.rona.ca/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/rona/tools_calcul.jsp?nodeId=5_
135&sectionId=130&storeId=10001&langId=-1&catalogId=10051&parent_category_rn
=5

These pages offer you the option of entering measurements in either
metric or ifp, and metric is the default.
