Bill, for sprinters, "power walkers" (fast walkers), and even for slow
walkers (less than 1 m/s), m/s is best for measurements of human speeds.

Distances, in meters, and times in seconds are both easy for lay persons
to measure and are, in fact, entirely appropriate for measuring
human speeds; based on acquired "feelings" for distance and time in SI.

Admittedly, for multiple kilometer walkers and runners, there is more
difficulty in measuring the greater distances by tapes. But even great
distances are easily measured in recent days by inexpensive GPS devices.

For human speeds, minutes and hours are "clutter" as I previously asseted.

Gene.
