'Accelerating', uh?... Hmm... Let's see, from 1 um/s to, maybe 1.2 um/s?... (where
'u' is micro) ;-)

Again, the above resembles someone picking from even a huge "bucket" of sand (which
would evidently be "invisible" to the public...) and grabbing it on his hand while
"dumping" it on the beach. Perhaps in 3 thousand years one would finally "notice" and
pay attention: hey, have you seen the beach sand level lately? Gee, I think it went
up 4". I think we should all talk to the gummint about it!...

Later he and a "gang of thugs" manage to call the attention of the mayor about it.
After so much fuss they finally manage to get him (or her) to do something about that
and... Lo and behold, 3 kyears of history go down the drain as an "army of trucks"
storm to the beach to eliminate those pesky 4" of extra sand out!!!

Moral of the story: it doesn't really matter that we've been "stealthily" metricating.
Once it makes enough of a dent to "bother" some key players, guess what? Walls come
crashing down in a storm!!!

Sorry, pal, it ain't gonna work!!! You MUST come about making a change in Joe
Sixpack's stance vis-a-vis metric units, otherwise, forget it! We've all witnessed
what happened to the DOT effort. That is PRECISELY the kind of stuff that WILL happen
once metric steps on people's toes.

Anyhow, my 2-cents worth...

Marcus
