Last fall, at an IEEE SCC14 meeting, Barry Taylor asked our inputs on changes
that we would like to see in the SI brochure. I asked that he push for the
brochure to explicitly call for a space between number and unit in a
quantity. Since that is what one sees throughout the brochure I said that I
did not anticipate much opposition.

Barry had no comment on my suggestion, but he did add it to his list of
things to take to the next CCU meeting.
