I'm puzzled by your reference to French Canadians. EnglishCanadians usemetric too.some
You may be allowing yourself to be influenced by the practices ofmanufacturers. My Black and Decker electric lawnmower, for example, shows blade size in inches in English and in centimeters in French.
That frustrates me too. Francophone Canadians are no more familiar with metric than are anglophone Canadians. Yet, manufacturers seem to think that because one group speaks French, they must use the same system as France.

I want to add my impression of the Canadian situation. Francophone Canadians are no more familiar with the metric system than are anglophone Canadians, but they are favorable to the metric system since it was of Frecnh origin. Some anglopphone Canadians are hostile to the metric system since it was of French origin.
