[USMA:26776] Metric questions

I have a couple of questions I'd like to post on this site.  Are there any auto mechanics who have been in the business long enough to have worked when the U S auto industry changed from imperial bolts to metric, and if there are how did they deal with the change?  Are there any metric only road signs for speed or distance anywhere in the U S?  Do all federal government buildings in the States still have to be built to S I specs?  Thanks for your time.
