Gwen Ifel(sp) was interviewing Ali Jalali about
Afghanistan. At about 35 or 36 minutes after the hour when he was
answering a question, he began to answer 190 kilo--- but before finishing the
word kilometers he quickly changed his answer to 190 miles.
This morning while listening to NPR's Morning
Edition, as usual their reporter was using the term 'yards' from Iraq which I am
certain was a conversion from 'meters'.
I am a supporter of public radio and television,
albeit a small one, and I wonder if that is method to get their attention and
convince them to change their style to use metric terms where they
naturally occur.
