John Mercer, Han and friends:
I have seen several posts on the issue. The title suggests, a need to re-think measurement for American football field. While hard conversions 100yds x53yds are meaningless, I propose the field could be redefined as 90m x50m (98.4252yds x54.6807yds).
Area 100yds x53yds =5300 sq.yds & [98.4252yds x54.6807yds =5381.95883364 sq.yds].
I may not be competent to ask: Was there a need for THIS question to be on usma discussion? However, competent authorities (US-NFL & NFL Europe) may be approached to considere this.

American football in Europe uses yards, it simply follows the original rules
of the game. That is a reason why I hope that it will not catch on in
Europe,

Han
