I forgot to provide the conversion factor.

The rough number is 1 thousand joules to the BTU.

The exact number depends on the definition of the BTU. The "International Table" BTU is 1055.056 J. The thermochemical BTU is 1054.350 J. For air conditioning, I suspect the former would apply.

The SI unit is the joule. For air conditioners, the actual measurement would be in kilojoules (kJ) or megajoules (MJ).

Could someone please tell me what the S I unit is for measureing the output of airconditioners?  In imperial it's B T U. What is the conversion factor to convert B T U's to S I?  Thanks for all your help.
