My experience has been that most of them use inches.   Just to verify that, I did a Google search with the following keywords: PC �cran taille. In English, they are PC screen size.   My first hit was a French site (obviously, given my choice of keywords) for buying and selling PCs, containing such items as:       Ordinateurs portables > PC >> Par taille d'�cran   12" et moins   de 13" � 14"   de 15" � 16 "   17" et plus     Everywhere on the site, screen sizes, whether CRTs or flat panel, are given in inches.   I also did a search with PC Bildschirm (German for screen). One of the top hits was the site for Dell's German subsidiary.
