My experience has been that most of them use inches.

Just to verify that, I did a Google search with the following keywords: PC cran taille. In English, they are PC screen size.

My first hit was a French site (obviously, given my choice of keywords) for buying and selling PCs, containing such items as:

Everywhere on the site, screen sizes, whether CRTs or flat panel, are given in inches.

I also did a search with PC Bildschirm (German for screen). One of the top hits was the site for Dell's German subsidiary. Here's part of the initial page:

Again, nothing but inches.

Unfortunately, this is not uncommon.

Subject: [USMA:27093] Computer Screens

Hello in metric countrys how are computer screens measured?  When we speak of a 17 inch screen I have converted it to metric and it works out to 43.18 cm.  If we used metric would 43 cm be clos enough? Thanks.
