In re-reading what you wrote, Tom, I am now wondering if there will be concurrent changes to the laws regarding speedometers and odomoters in cars sold in Ireland after a certain date to read in kilometres for odometers and (at a minimum primarily) in kilometres per hour for speedometers. (I make the possible concession for dual-marked speedometers because some might claim miles per hour are needed for drivers when they cross into Northern Ireland.) Seems like this is necessary to match up with a conversion of all road signs in Ireland to metric! Is a different ministry, department, or agency responsible for the regulations regarding the gauges installed in automobiles sold in Ireland? Ezra
