In USMA 27219 Marcus and Pat Naughtin discussed at length the quad, grad, grade, and gon and their subdivisions. However, I do not find these units in the metric bible. The trouble with these units is that they require a repeating decimal fraction to express one third and two thirds of a right angle, two very common angles in mechanical engineering. Table 6 in the metric bible lists the degree, minute and second of angle, but in a footnote adds "ISO 31 recommends that the degree be subdivided decimally rather than using the minute and second."
