Why would anyone buy a thermometer that can display in Fahrenheit? Why not just buy one in degrees Celsius only and there would be no need to worry about switches? Since you already bought it, why not open it up and remove the switch. In its place, solder in jumpers that will permanently display the degree Celsius themperature. Once you go metric, never go back.
