Myanmar (then Burma) made the use of the metric system optional in
1920.  Travellers in Myanmar report that the road from Rangoon (now
Yangon) to its airport has distance signs in kilometres.  It is likely
that small traders use their old Burmese measures rather than
inch/pound.
Still Burma.  The military dictatorship that denied Nobel peace prize winner Aung San Suu Kui's election over 10 years ago (and have kept her under house arrest or worse ever since) renamed it "Myanmar".  Since few countries recognize this government, likewise, few recognize the name change.
