The vote to create a Usenet newsgroup "misc.metric-system" is now under
way.

To vote, you'll need to get the official ballot, which was just posted to
"news.announce.newgroups", or send e-mail to the vote taker
([EMAIL PROTECTED]) and ask him to send you a copy.
All votes must include your real name and a working e-mail address, and
this information (and how you voted) is made public at the end of the
voting period.

I am not forwarding the ballot because it would violate the voting rules.
I have also not said which way to vote; campaigning at this stage is also
against the rules. Either violation could cause the election to be
invalidated.

The deadline for voting is midnight UTC (8 pm EST, 5 pm PST) Nov 25.

To succeed, the proposal needs at least 2/3 YES and at least 100 more YES
votes than NO votes. If it fails, it cannot be proposed again for six
months.
