John's feeling expressed below is precisely why I keep hammering on the same key all 
the time vis-a-vis this cm vs mm business.

Accuracy, accuracy, accuracy.  Simplicity, simplicity, simplicity.  Everything boils 
down to these two in the end.

Again, why bother giving dimensions of rooms indeed to the cm accuracy if a simple 3 
by 4, or 5 by 7 would do?  Perhaps you could use halves here, like 3.5 by 4.5 or 
something similar, tops.  Otherwise, no need indeed.

In summary then, for rough estimates anything beyond the decimeter is overkilling.  
For more specific dimensioning cm is more than enough.  For meshing or setting up 
components, *maybe* mm may be needed.

Circumstances should dictate what is to be used, it's as simple as that.

Imagine if I expressed my height as 1 790 mm!  I'd be a laughing stock in the metric 
world.  People would look at me and say, wow, that accurate, eh?...  Hmm...
