Dear Jim,

While we did appreciate your feedback, I'm afraid to say that the info you provided
was quite short from what many of us would expect. I feel I'd speak on behalf of many
others here when I say that what we were really interested in was to know the
following:

- Was there a final support for legislation regarding ammending the FPLA or not?

- If unit pricing was an 'issue'? What exactly does that mean? That there wouldn't
be support for it because that would entail unit pricing in metric?

- If, as you say, 'it was... obvious (SIC) to all... that it would be politically
infeasible to (do this amendment)', wouldn't that constitute total failure???

(I'm afraid Europe would be very angry with this conclusion since they've done all
they could to postpone the directive, while US authorities are still making up all
sorts of excuses NOT to push forward with this! I am one who is quite frankly mad at
them for such shortsightedness.

Besides, I can see where this is going - well, there will NEVER be an appropriate
political environment to press this. And, for the love of me, WHY NOT??? What's
missing in the present political environment that would make this 'infeasible'
(SIC!)??? !$#%#%$ Darn, I've had it!... :-( )

- And just out of curiosity, what was this the TABD's position on the matter? By the
looks of it it can't be positive, I suspect...

- Anyways, has there been a consensus to move forward or not???

- Does this amendment text *EXIST* or not???

Thanks, Jim, for the clarifications to the above items.

Marcus
