Mighty Chimp i don't know of any U K industries that have gone back to FFU units.  I know of 3 examples of U K industry that have changed from FFU units to metric.  These companys are the Perkins diesel engine company, the Lister petter diesel engine company and the Triumph motor cycle company.  Triumph was out of business for a few years i don't know if before they went out of business if they used U S standard fasteners or Witworth. Anyway witch ever they used before they went out of business when they came back they use totally metric fasteners I would like to ask the BWMA about this.  If inch fasteners are so much better why did these companys change.  I don't believe the Government of the U K forced these companys to use metric fasteners.
