You could be right for that application. You may apply a different Just
Noticeable Difference (JND is the scientific term) to your hot water, oven
etc.

I see 0.5 degree Celsius intervals in domains that also use Fahrenheit (e.g.
my car). If there is no Fahrenheit version, then you often see 1 degree
Celsius intervals. I am convinced that the requirement for Fahrenheit
intervals defines the Celsius intervals rather than any awareness of the
concept of JND.

I see room thermostats with intervals of 1 degree Celsius and others with
intervals of 0.5 degree Celsius.

The defaults for Danfoss appear to be Celsius and 24 hour clock. They have
Fahrenheit and 12 hour clock options.
