Hello everyone i did a little bit of measureing around my apartment this morning.  I have heard that a meter is approx the distance between a door knob and the floor.  I found this to be true,it might depend on how straight the door is hung.  I measured about 6 different doors some in my apartment and some  close to my apartment and found that they all were very close to a meter.  I have a question for anybody.  If i were going to give a talk to a group of people about the metric system and wanted to show them a meter stick would it make any difference if it were metal or wood.
