I noticed that too. (The Mars article does actually have one parenthetical conversion to miles [fold-out page] and one to pounds [page 27].)
 
As I skimmed through it, I was suddenly optimistic. After all, this was the January edition of a new year. I thought that they had finally seen the light and was ready to rush to  my computer to let everyone here know. Imagine my disappointment when I found the old units in every one of the other articles.

Also, the Nat'l Geographic which arrived yesterday has a long article on Mars.  It is totally SI, as far as I can see.  Not a mile or foot on the entire planet.  Of course, the rest of the mag is the same as usual.  Perhaps a few messages to the staff at NG might be productive.  Some positive reinforcement.
