When I tried to set up MISC.METRIC-SYSTEM in my Outlook Express it keeps coming up with server not found.  The only reference to this news group was found under sci.misc.

Even a google search under the name MISC.METRIC-SYSTEM does not show me anything other then what appears under the SCI.MISC group.

Even when I get a listing of the different groups this one does not appear.

Are you actually posting to this group?  Have you actually set this group up on your newsgroup viewer on your computer?  Has anyone done this and been successful?

You are definitely in the wrong place. The group is misc.metric-system.

Subject: [USMA:27998] metric news group

Someone went through the trouble of setting up a metric news group and there is no posting.  Unless I'm at the wrong place.  It seems to be part of sci.misc.  The few postings that are there are from November and seem to be against the idea of the newsgroup being created.

I highly doubt anyone from a metric country is going to contribute as they are already metric.  They don't care if the US converts or not.  Many may feel the US not metricating is to their advantage.  They have a competitive advantage when selling their products in other countries.

I have to admit I haven't posted anything either, but i'm wondering why others haven't.
