We have the worst problems when trains depart between midnight and 1:00 am,
for this very reason.

I'd like to submit that Carleton's point above is precisely the source of
all the confusion behind this am/pm discussion.  Indeed, if a day has ended,
for instance, why continue reckoning it beyond 12???  This is totally
illogical to me indeed.  What this actually demonstrates is the the end
*REALLY* happens at 12:59 since people NOW start all over again at 1:00 (Go
figure...)!!!  How irrational and silly, I would say, wouldn't one agree?...
