For years now I have been telling all who borrow our various 2 cycle devices, such as chain saws, that the proper way to mix the fuel is xx ml of oil per yyy ml of gasoline.  It is so simple!  The way the retailers of 2 cycle fuel seem to handle it in most hardware stores is to sell small pre-measured plastic containers of oil with the instruction to mix it with a quart or gallon of gasoline.  The small container contains some odd amount of oil, so no one has to think about the process.

The same concept applies to Roundup herbicide, which is mixed to either a 2 or 4 % concentration, depending on the type you buy.  The concentrate bottles tell nothing about mixing the stuff by ml, but only by ounces.  I have written the manufacturer of the stuff a bunch of times with no intelligible response.

These are two really prime examples of the advantages of metrication, but it is a tough sell!
