Good sir: Although your postings have lead to some interesting discussions please
remember this is a metric list dealing with metric issues. If you find an article that
has a metric related issue in it please describe why your posting it. I'm not even
sure why you posted the NASA stuff as there is no metric even mentioned. I am as
interested in this topic as the next guy (my friends sister is s Shuttle pilot) but I
read the news and like everyone on this list, have other ways of getting this type of
info. As you are new I will repeat what I have said before:

I am on this list somewhat in violation of my agencies policy against Listserv. My
former supervisor (may he rest in peace) allowed me to remain on the list because he
understood its value to my job as the Region's Metric Conversion Manager. If I get a
mailbox filled with dozens and hundreds of Email it will draw attention and I will no
longer be allowed to be on this list. This is especially so if they find that mos of
the postings have nothing to do with the topic.

So please keep your postings related to the topic of SI. This is a tool and a
resources for those involved in the conversion effort or who use metric on a daily
basis. I do not think it is helpful nor do we need to post links to sites because it
might have metric units listed in it or because it might be something people on this
list are interested.

I do this unofficially as I have no status on this list. Mr. Hillinger is the host and
webmaster for the list. He repeatedly reminds us to keep to topic. Eventually he will
get frustrated or be forced to give up the list if we can not follow the rules and
guidelines.

Thank you.
