Hi Bill, Barbara Hooper:
While you might consider this to be out of context, I talked of Universal Temperature Scale (UT) in my book: Towards A Unified Technology (1982) pages 87 thro 90 in order to eliminate the use of NEGATIVE expression for temperatures. Yes, the resolution of temperature measurement as agaionst KELVIN might be the 'question': The scale starts at 0 UT= (minus)273.16K and 100 UT = 100K, thus the scale shall range between 0 UT thro 100UT (or - 273.16K thro 100K).
One UT would then be =(273.16+100)/100 =3.7316K (or Celsius) = 6.72-deg F =2.98-deg R.
To resolve, this is a large tepmrature gap, I suggest a SLIDER using 'vernier divisions into 24/25 or 99/100' calibration for resolution of the temperature. It may appear absurd thought since NOT many have pondered over this Teperature Scale. However, I define:
"ONE UNIT of 'Universal Temperature Scale' based on Tjhermodynamic measurement of temperature as : *1/100th of the fundamental interval of temperature between ABSOLUTE ZERO (0 UT) and STEAM POINT (100 UT), corresponding to a temperautre interval of 3.7316K*.

I'd be interested to know about that research, Chimpsarecute. Do you have any references to such research that I could use to look it up?
