I am glad to see that the discussion of decimal time is on the floor again in this group.
The subject of metric time has been around for as fare back as the French revolution.
As we know this sorta of time system did not take hold. There might not have been a
need for a new way to look at time back then.
Today there is a lot of interest around the world towards a metric time as can be seen in different web pages and discussion groups and sow on.
Often people look at there clocks and watches to see what time it is and just like a second nature to them they under stand what time it is and they understand the math behind standard time. Equally anyone that would look at a metric clock or watch as often would understand metric as a second nature to them.
A strong case would have to be made towards adopting a metric time.
:What are the advantages of metric time.
:What are the disadvantages of metric time.
A system that would work in today's digital age and still fit standard time format is a must
have in order to avoid complicated conversion problems.
Personally I have seen the pros and the cons of standard/metric time in real time daily use for several years now. Personal adoption of a metric time system only strengthens my belief that metric time is coming our way.
I apologize as I know that this subject can hit a sore spot with some specialists that are knowledgeable to the facts behind metrication. This is indeed outside the box of standard thinking and is in now way meat to be an insult to there intelligence. Ultimately there views would have to be respected as well as any views that the Naval Observatory might have about metric time.
