You are correct, of course, Such a scale these days is mostly a decoration, given that electronic scales are so much more convenient. I **DO** intend to use it -- I homebrew beer, and it will work fine for measuring some of the ingredients, and it is just retro-cool-fun to use. However, if I were running a brewing business, I wouldn't even consider using it. Jim Elwell
