Regarding the information provided by Terry Simpson (copied below), in which he cited the URL for finding South Carolina airport codes (needed to get airport weather info), I tried it and then "played around" with it and found you can get the needed airport codes for anywhere in the US, by going to the following URL instead, then clicking on whichever state you wish:

http://www.aircraft-charter-world.com/airports/northamerica/usa.htm

(With that code, go to Terry's other recommended URL to get the weather data.)

There is also a link on this page to get other codes world wide.

Bill Hooper

=================================
Here is the explanation as Terry provided it:

Since July 1996, it has been provided by airports and the National Weather
Service in Celsius.

Try putting a South Carolina airport (or any other) into the National
Weather Service website:
http://weather.noaa.gov/weather/metar.shtml

You can get a list of South Carolina airport codes at:
http://www.aircraft-charter-world.com/airports/northamerica/ southcarolina.htm

When I checked at 2004/03/09 12:56 UTC, the weather for Columbia Metro
airport was reported as:
KCAE 091256Z 12004KT 10SM SCT090 BKN110 04/M02 A3004 RMK AO2 SLP171
T00391017

The T0039 means 3.9 degrees Celsius.
