I just finished watching a show on the National Geographic Channel about marine life in Belize and the endangered species there.
One thing that caught my eye was a clip from a local (perhaps THE local?) television station that was part of a news segment about a manatee that was found orphaned near the shore line. What struck me was that the newsreader reported the manatee's mass in pounds and the distance from the shore line in yards. I don't know when the news report dates from but I believe the National Geographic show was produced fairly recently, so I'm going to assume the new report is fairly recent (within the last few years) as well. Does anyone have any solid information about the extent of usage of Imperial units versus SI units in Belize these days? Ezra
