First of all, we have a metric time unit and it has been used for over 100 years.  It is called the second and is one of the seven base units.

The article doesn't seem to mention the second which is the only true metric time unit.  It also says that all member countries are suppose to convert to their 10 h system by 2002.  it is now 2004.  What happened?

With all the past silly talk about 'metric time' in this newsgroup, I thought those who are insterested in the status quo may like to go to this url for a bit of fun:

PS. Before metric time is ever seriously considered, the USA should be customary with the metric system, as the rest of the world is, or are doing.
