.....arbitrary and non-uniform calendar.....All planets show arbitrary and non-uniform motions BUT they follow Kepler's laws and the durations of each month are closely related to 30-degree transit of Earth in ecliptic path around sun. Moon's motion had been in use by witch doctors linked to the woman's cycle, while telling the age of a past event.....xxx moons ago! My luniSolar scheme of 834-yr/148 LWks calendar and 19-yr/235 lunations in link with 2L/59th as *Tithi/Phase* have promising results to match futuristic calendar needs to give: Mean Year =365.242206235 days; and Mean Lunation =29.5309743093 days with accomodative adjustments.

The time it takes the Moon to orbit the Earth is the lunar month and IS more
or less uniform. However, unlike the arbitrary and non-uniform calendar
month, the number of lunar months in a year is not an integer.
I know you know that, but for some reason it didn't come out right when you wrote it. If I had done that, I would excuse it as a senior moment.
