I recently visited the Kitt Peak Observatory near Tucson, Arizona, for an evening of astronomy and information on the observatory.  It's a great place and they have a nice program, but notwithstanding all the scientific stuff for sale at the gift shop, everything was ifp!  The guides talked only in miles (when not dealing in light-years) and even the rulers for sale at the shop were the old wooden kind with inches only. The only metric I heard were references to the diameter of the mirrors on some of the telescopes, but even then some of the were referred to in inches.

I plan to write them with a suggestion to get with the program.
