Whatever the units, it's always length times width for a rectangular room. If it's L-shaped, you need to split it into two rectangles and add the two areas.

Could anyone please tell me how to find the area of a room in square m? Do you multiply length times width? Could someone give me an example how to do it please. John Mercer.
