I have always seen coverage of Olympics and other athletics in metric,
here in the UK. For the USA to dumb down the measurements to imperial
is stupid and deceptive, especially as they will lack accuracy, and
when someone converts a metric to imperial to the nearest inch and then
someone converts that back to metric, they could be a few cm out if the
first calculation was not correct. By all means contact NBC and tell them that they should accurately report the Olympics using the measurements used at the Games themselves without there being any need to provide an equivalent, as Americans are not so dumb they cannot compare 90 cm with 95 cm for example, or 254 metres with 280 metres, etc. David Predrag Lezaic wrote: I hope this is not any indication of the coverage of the Olympics. I don't understand how the track is run in meters and long jump is in feet and inches. How much more retarded can they get. Please join me in emailing NBC Sports at [EMAIL PROTECTED] <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> and urging them to stick to metric when Olympics are on. I will be boycotting them and getting my programming somewhere else. If I don't find it I'd rather not listen to anything than this nonsense they have on right now. --
