I assume that a large proportion of no-voters are members of the BWMA and/or the UKIP. They know what they want and will vote on this issue whenever they get the chance. 2340 votes are not very convincing.

I am back from Ireland now. When I go back next year I hope that road metrication will have been accomplished. However, I would like to be there if that happens. I will go back anyway for a week in the last week of February.
I wonder how soon the mpg will be buried after road metrication? But the kilomile (used in car ads indicating the distance a car has already covered) will only go slowly with the replacement of mile-odometers.

Teletext poll shows 93% oppose scrapping of mile and pint

A phone in poll conducted by ITV's teletext service found 93% of 2,340 callers opposed the idea of doing away with traditional measurements, such as pints and miles. The poll was conducted in response to a call by the UK Metric Association that Britain should go totally metric.
