If a pint of blood is equal to 450 mL and neither 473 mL nor 568 mL, then what is a gallon of blood equal to?
If someone is a gallon donor of blood, have they given 3.8 L based on the US gallon, 4.5 L based on the UK gallon or 3.6 L based on the 450 mL pint. I noticed in some circles, the 450 mL blood bag is not called a pint but a "unit". This term seems to be a better trade name then "pint".
