I would like to know about this, about the true origins of metric, I think we all would, perhaps the book explains it and maybe someone might be able to find out what it says. The metre was originally defined as a fraction of the Earth's circumference, so that through the poles the circumference is exactly 40,000 km, although when the French scientists devised the metre they were out by a tiny fraction.
If the metric system is really so old, then there is no excuse by imperialists to not accept it on the grounds of it being a man-made modern invention.
