Yes, it is filmed in Canada, so I am puzzled as to why the new Atlantis series would use imperial for anything. Stargate SG1 has always featured a lot of metric usage, probably because of the military, but for Atlantis perhaps they are pandering to a dumb US audience who would expect imperial for civilian usage.
Not a very good way to make a TV series, to dumb down everything to the lowest common denominator, although it probably is financially-motivated. Also note that the main man behind the show, Richard Anderson, who plays Jack O'Neill, is from L.A. so he might be more familiar with imperial and be wanting to use that, except for military use (as the US military have long been metric).


Anyway, I look forward to seeing the show when it reaches the UK.
