Something of interest.  Even though the BWMA takes great pride in seeing single signs converted to FFU, someone has awoken them to the possibility of fighting a change in the laws which would allow the change to take place.  I hope the UKMA hasn't fallen asleep on this one.

To deter 'Travellers' from camping in the car-park at the Avon Heath Country Park in East Dorset, a low-height barrier has been erected across the entrance. This barrier is marked as being "2 metres max." I have reminded East Dorset District Council of TSRGD 2002, but they say that Dorset CC are responsible. I have now received a conciliatory letter from the Countryside and Access Manager at Dorset CC apologising for the error and assuring me that the sign will be corrected as soon as possible. Another small success to mark up.

The real battle August 19 2004, 9:32 PM

Allan,

You do realise don't you that the real battle in your campaign isn't the odd metric sign that might be erected in breach of current regulations.

It's preventing the regulations themselves being changed.

Indeed.

Something that hasn't even been planned
