It isn't a matter of giving up, it a matter of applying the pressure where
it will do the most good.

Writing letters to those who have no jurisdiction in the matter or who have
been pressured to revert are going to ignore the letters written by metric
zealots who have no faces.  To do the most good, our side needs to undo the
anti-metric provision in TEA-21 and make metric usage mandatory at all
levels of highway construction.

But I highly doubt our side will do the right thing only just complain about
the continuous reversions.
