Exactly, but with the intent of convincing those that don't know better and would be easily swayed by his "logic". Let's face it, 95 % of the people don't have a clue about the relationships or a practical ability to judge the merits of any system. Thus all someone like this guy has to do is plant some seed of confusion in people's minds. Enough to keep the status quo going as long as possible.

I keep wondering how those who oppose metric get along in businesses that have to deal with it, either because a customer wants it or they bought something that requires that attention to metric units be paid to.

It seems to me this guy is just expressing his opinions about SI and trying to pass them off as fact. He's undoubtedly more familiar with FFU. Isn't it strange the only SI unit with which he's comfortable is the second -- a unit he has used his whole life.
He probably never bothered to learn and use a new language because English is just more comfortable and therefore any foreign language is just more cumbersome.
