I have yet to see a post from anyone actually related to metrication of the US.

Please don't give up on the USMA list quite yet. There are a lot of people who post messages on this list who are very knowledgeable about SI metric and who are active in promoting its adoption and use in the US.
The list has been open to all, with the recommendation that US metrication be the primary subject of all messages. Not all have taken the recommendation to heart. From time to time, some contributors have taken us off topic. (I have been guilty of it myself.) Usually this goes away in short order, particularly when some contributors point out how far off topic we have gotten.
I'm afraid that you signed up on the list just at a time when certain people have gone too far off topic and don't want to stop. I have tried simply to ignore their posts, discarding them without reading them. Unfortunately, some people think what they have to say is relevant to metric while the rest of us do not. and so we occasionally respond to their non-metric correspondence which of course just propagates the problem further. (Again, I have been guilty of this, too.)
You will find that the majority of subscribers have things to say which you will find of interest. And your comments (and mine) are read by a number of USMA members and others who do not themselves post messages of their own. They know what's going on and benefit from the discussion (when it stays on topic). If you can bear up under the occasional outburst of non-metric stuff, I think you will find this list useful and helpful. Hope you will stay with us.

Your reaction to messages from Canada prompt me to ask the question: Do you think it is of interest to read discussions of how metrication is going and how it works in the UK, in Australia, in Canada? I find this very interesting and relevant to metrication in the US. My own view is that we should not limit our discussion just to US metrication. Others may disagree. Such differences of opinion are how we sometimes get into these "off topic" discussions. Somebody thinks that they are actually ON topic.
